Non-emergency Medical Transport Vehicles For When You Need a Lift

Consider Non-emergency Medical Transport Vehicles for All Your Medical Transportation Options

One of the questions we get asked the most is, “When would I ever need a no-nemergency medical transport vehicle?”

And it’s a fair question. Most people only think about the emergency situations; they rarely consider the non-emergency ones, and what they would do in those moments. It’s basic human nature: always be prepared for the worst. But what if the worst isn’t necessarily a life or death situation? What if it’s just that – a situation?

For example: you recently broke your knee. It happens. It’s the summer time, you were at the beach with your friends, playing volleyball, you went for the ball, landed the wrong way, and ouch! Your doctor has told you that you’ll be in a cast and on crutches for the next six to eight weeks, minimum. You can still go to work, still sit out in the sun, but driving is out of the question because of course, you broke your right knee – the one that controls the foot that presses on the pedals.

So you deal. You hitch rides to work with a co-worker who happens to live nearby and is willing to taxi you back and forth, as long as you supply him (or her) with gas money and coffee. Your parents step up to drive you to the doctor’s office when you need to go, and they occasionally stop by with some groceries so that you don’t starve. Friends take you out when they go out, and maybe there’s a significant other who handles all the rest. And six to eight weeks isn’t that long. You’ll be back on your feet in no time.

Then the unthinkable situation happens. You have a doctor’s appointment or a physical therapy appointment, and no one to drive you. Your co-worker is at work; they can’t drive you. Your parents are busy. Maybe they work, or maybe they’re on vacation. It is summer after all. You call your friends, but they’re at work or too far away to make it to you in time to make the appointment. You could always cancel, but you took the day off work so that you could go to the doctor’s! And who knows when the next available appointment will be. You don’t want to miss it.

And you don’t have too. Med X provides non-emergency medical transport vehicles for patients that just need a ride to the doctor’s office or physical therapist’s office. We have sedans and mini vans available for these kinds of trips so that you can be comfortable. Our drivers are fully insured and trained by us in defensive driving techniques and basic first aid and life saving methods. When you ride with Med X drivers, you can rest assured that you will be taken care of.

In this situation, our drivers/technicians are taught to take their cues from you. They will provide you with as much, or as little help as you indicate. Don’t want them to hover because you can handle it? No problem, they’ll just warm up the car. Need a hand getting into the car? Just say the word, and the driver/technician will be there to offer you assistance.

We own all of our vehicles. We don’t rent out, call a cab company, or ask our employees to use their own cars. We make sure that all of our vehicles are regularly maintained and that they are safe to drive and ride in. All vehicles are non-smoking. They are all outfitted with flashing lights, intercom systems, first aid kits, and life saving machines like defibrillators. Med X makes sure that our drivers and technicians are prepared for any situation they may encounter.

We have coordinators standing by 24/7 to answer your questions and handle your concerns. They are also available for your insurance provider, should there be an issue. We have payment plan options for those patients without insurance and who need our services. Just ask our transportation coordinators for more information.

If you would like to rent one of our non-emergency vehicles, you can call us directly or fill out a form online. If you fill out the form online, a coordinator will contact you as soon as possible to confirm and set up the appointment.
